Why does society put so much emphasis on whether or not
something is authentic? So many people
will base the significance of art on whether or not it is an original piece of
work, but isn’t it possible to love a “fake” piece of art? Take these pictures
for example; the painting on the right is an authentic painting, while a
different artist using the same style did the other. How is it possible to love one, but not the
other if they are almost identical? The
value of the painting on the left is much greater than the other simply because
it is by a famous artist.
